From navigating the application process to writing the supplemental essays and short-answer-responses, we've been there dozens of times. With so much information coming from every angle, it can quickly become overwhelming for families to figure out where to begin. On top of that, there are a ton of common misconceptions floating around, and many trainers will take advantage of families by selling tricks and and insider secrets. In reality, there are no secrets. There are no tricks to it. The insiders of college admissions publicly tell applicants what they're looking for. Applying to college isn't a game or a pageant show. Universities put out a significant amount of writing to encourage students to do two simple things: show what kind of student they are and what kind of person they are. The application doesn't need to win a Pulitzer prize. It needs to be authentic. We'll cut away the nonsense that universities practically beg students to stop doing in their applications. We'll reinforce the student's existing work. We'll redirect their writing to accomplish those two simple objectives. Applying to college can be quite easy once we get rid of the noise. It's everything before and after that application that's the real hard work.
